Any competent crew can hang siding so it looks right on handover day. What separates a good exterior from a failing one is everything behind it: how the housewrap is lapped, whether the window head flashing actually sheds water outward, whether the fasteners are right for the exposure, and how the trim terminates.
Get those wrong on an inland house and you have a slow problem. Get them wrong within sight of Northumberland Strait and you have a fast one.
Why coastal exposure changes the work
Wind-driven rain. Water does not only fall down here. It arrives sideways and finds any lap detailed the wrong way round.
Salt air. Hard on fasteners and finishes. Fastener selection is a durability decision, not a cost one.
Wind loading. Direct exposure along the shore means fastening schedules that inland work never needs. This region remembers Fiona.
Freeze-thaw. Any water that does get in expands when it freezes, and does it again every time the temperature crosses zero.
What we install
Vinyl, engineered wood, board and batten, panel systems and mixed-material elevations with stone or masonry accents. Plus the soffit, fascia, trim, corners and flashings that make the elevation read cleanly — which is mostly where the craft shows.
Re-siding an older home
On a replacement job we open a section before quoting the whole thing. If the original wrap and flashing have failed, or there is rot in the sheathing, new siding over the top is money wasted. You will be told what is actually there before you commit to a number.

The difference between adequate and good in this trade is almost never visible on handover day. It shows up in year three.
Sequence. Work that arrives in the right order costs less than work that has to be undone and redone.
Tolerance. Square, plumb and level are not aspirations — every trade that follows inherits whatever tolerance you accept.
Detailing. The parts nobody photographs, like laps, flashings and fastening, are what decide whether it lasts on this coast.
Honesty. If we find something behind the wall, you hear it with photographs before we carry on.
Longer than most people get, if the envelope behind it was detailed properly. Product warranties are written for average conditions; direct strait exposure is not average, which is why the detailing matters more than the brand.

Usually we can get close, and where an exact match is not available we will show you the options and where a transition would sit before you commit.
Do you repair storm damage?
Yes. Envelope repair after wind damage is regular work along this shore, and we will document what we find if there is an insurance claim running.
